This policy explains what information FactFusion AI (factfusionai.com) handles when you use the site. In short: you can read the site without an account, we collect very little, and we do not sell information about you.
Who is responsible
The site is owned and run by Ali Ahmad Chaudhry, an individual based in Pakistan. It is hosted on servers in Germany. You can reach us through the contact page.
What we handle, and why
Reading the site. Like every website, the servers of our hosting provider process your IP address and basic details of each request, such as the page asked for and your browser type. This is needed to deliver pages and keep the service secure.
Stopping abuse. To protect the fact generator, the fact widget and the public API, we count requests per visitor. We do this with a scrambled (salted and hashed) form of your IP address, not the address itself. These counters are deleted after about two days.
Reporting a problem with a fact. If you use the report form on a fact page, we store what you write and, if you choose to give it, your email address, so that the editor can review the report and ask you about it.
Contacting us. A message sent through the contact form is delivered to the editor by email, with the name and email address you enter. It is not stored in the website’s database.
We rely on our legitimate interest in running and securing the site for the items above, and on your consent for analytics.
Information kept on your own device
Some features save a small amount of information in your own browser, not on our servers: your choice of light or dark mode, the list of facts you save, and your answer to the cookie notice. You can remove all of it at any time by clearing this site’s data in your browser.
Analytics and cookies
We do not use advertising cookies. We may use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages are useful. It is loaded only if you choose “Accept analytics” in the cookie notice. If you decline, or if no notice is shown, it does not run. When it does run, Google Analytics sets cookies and sends usage information to Google. You can change your choice at any time with the “Cookie settings” link at the bottom of any page.
Our fact widget on other websites
Other websites may show our fact widget. When a page containing the widget loads, your browser requests the fact from our server, and that request is counted to stop abuse as described above.
Links to other websites
Every fact links to its source on another website. Those websites have their own privacy policies, and we are not responsible for them.
Who sees your information
We do not sell personal information. It is processed by our hosting provider, and by Google only if you accept analytics. The editor is based in Pakistan and reads reports and contact messages there. We may disclose information if the law requires it.
How long we keep it
- Request counters: about two days.
- Reports about a fact: kept as a record of the correction. You can ask us to delete your email address or the whole report.
- Contact messages: as long as needed to deal with your message.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, including under the GDPR in the EU and the UK and under California law, you may have the right to ask for a copy of the information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, and to object to how it is used. To do any of these, use the contact page. If you are in the EU, you may also complain to your local data protection authority.
Children
The site is a general reference. It does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
We will update this page when the site changes in a way that affects your information. The date at the bottom of this page shows the latest version.
